Find Products from a Photo: 3 Ways to Shop with Google Lens

AI adoption guideSOL LABS AI3 min read

A chair at a café, a bag a friend was carrying, a lamp that flashed by in your feed. There are plenty of things you like but can't search for because you don't know what they're called. Show the photo to Google Lens and it will find similar products and where to buy them.

The information in this post was checked on 2026-10-22 against Google Search's official Lens page, the Google Search Help Center, and Android's official Circle to Search guide. Screens and menu names may differ slightly depending on your app version.

Does Google Lens shopping work in Korea?

Yes. Google's official Lens page describes its "Shop what you see" feature this way: from your camera or a screenshot, it finds who makes the item, how much it costs, and where you can buy it, and you can add text to find versions in a different color, pattern, or size. South Korea is on the same page's list of countries where shopping results are available.

1. Phone: the Lens icon in the Google app

This is the most basic method. Here are the steps from the Help Center (Android):

  1. Open the Google app (or the Chrome app).
  2. Tap the Google Lens icon on the right side of the search bar.
  3. Point your camera at the item and tap search, or pick a screenshot from your gallery.
  4. Drag the corners of the box so only the product is inside.
  5. Scroll down to see the results, and add text with "Ask about this image" if needed.

For products you spot on Instagram or in shopping apps, the fastest way is to take a screenshot and upload it to Lens. The Help Center's tip: the tighter the box, the more accurate the results.

2. Galaxy: circle it with Circle to Search

If you want to search without leaving the app you're in, Circle to Search is handy. According to Android's official guide, long-press the home button (or the navigation handle at the bottom if you use gesture navigation), a Google search bar appears at the bottom of the screen, and you just circle or tap what you want to find. The official example even shows someone drawing over a photo of a product they want to buy.

The guide lists supported devices as the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip5 · Flip6, and Z Fold5 · Fold6, and says devices other than the S24 can use it after an update. If your phone isn't on the list, use method 1 (the Google app).

3. PC: right-click a photo in Chrome

When you're browsing a shop or blog on your computer and see a photo you want to look up, you can do it right in Chrome.

  1. Open the page with the photo in Chrome.
  2. Right-click the photo.
  3. Click "Search with Google Lens" and the results appear in a side panel.

For a photo saved on your computer, upload the file via "Search by image" in the google.com search bar.

What to check after you find it

  • If several similar products show up, add words like color, material, or size and search again
  • Click through and double-check price, stock, and shipping on the seller's own page
  • If it's a shop you've never heard of, check its business information and reviews first
  • If other people are in the photo, crop to just the product before searching
